Skeletons, Witches, and a Sandbox environment on your Business Central mobile or desktop app?

It's October 1st and you know what that means? Yes, that it's time to start celebrating All Hallows Eve but it also means that Release Wave 2 is just around the corner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. As I was exploring some of the new features associated with this new release I came across a way to have your desktop app or mobile app open up each time with any of your environments, even a Sandbox.

Sit back and take a coffin break, oops I meant coffee break and watch how easy you can do this.

I'm guilty of not using the desktop app or mobile apps as much as I should be because I primarily test things in a Sandbox environment and I was never able to figure out how to switch between environments easily until now.

To switch between environments in the apps you have to paste the url: ms-businesscentral://businesscentral.dynamics.com/YourEnvironmentHere (replace YourEnvironmentHere with your own) into your desktop or phone's web browser and you'll be prompted to open this in the app. Select yes and now going forward this environment will open each time you open the app. If you want to change which environment opens up in the app again simply repeat the process.
