How to Add a New Contact to an Existing Customer in D365 for Financials

FYI: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials has been rebranded into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.


In this training session we need to add a new contact named Linda Smith to our existing customer The Cannon Group.

Step 1 - Click customers, then either the ellipsis associated with your customer that needs the contact added and edit, or drill down on the highlighted No. for your customer.

Step 2 - Click the Contact icon located in the ribbon and this will pull up your Contact List.

Step 3 - Click the New icon located in the ribbon or click the New hyperlinked text to create a new contact.

Step 4 - Enter your information into the Contact Card and then make sure to associate the customer with the company by filling in the Company Name located within the General FastTab.

Step 5 - Once your information is entered click the X to save, close, and return to your Contact List Page. You should see your new contact added to your customer.
