Business Central 2023 Release Wave 2 Review

AI Snack Time

Microsoft outlines six key principles for responsible AI: accountability, inclusiveness, reliability and safety, fairness, transparency, and privacy and security. These principles are essential to creating responsible and trustworthy AI as it moves into more mainstream products and services. They are guided by two perspectives: ethical and explainable.

Ethical

Michael's Thoughts: Here lies the main problem with AI. Is it unethical to believe in man-made global warming? Is abortion ethical? Is it ethical to use robotics to replace human labor? Someone will be answering these questions and designing their AI systems based on their ethical beliefs even though their answers are not adopted by everyone.

Accountability

Michael's Thoughts: The people need to be held accountable according to Microsoft. I agree but to what extent? Jail time? I mean, these people could cause serious damage to humanity if they wanted. Is jail-time ethical?

Inclusiveness

Michael's Thoughts: Microsoft mandates that AI should consider all human races and experiences. Should convicted child molesters, rapists, murders, etc. have access to information that can help them commit crimes with the accuracy AI can provide?

Overall, we are moving closer to what George Orwell described in his 1984 book. Soon we’ll have a ministry of truth, ministry of peace, ministry of love, and ministry of plenty.
