Alright, time to connect Power BI to D365 for Financials. Below are the steps to connect over Financials OData:
1. Open Your PowerBI.com online account
2. Select the Get Data option from the bottom menu
3. Click on the Get Service Option
Select Dynamics 365 for Financials from the list and click on "Get it Now"
New Connection window appears asking for the OData URL to connect
To get the OData url we need to open our D365 for Financials in either a new window or tab and then use the Global Search and search for the web service.
Select Power BI Reports Selection from list of objects.
Copy this url into the Power BI connection window
Your password is the web service access key of the Admin user and you can get it from the users tab.
So, after connecting to the financial OData services you should see a ready made dashboard created in Power BI for D365 for Financials.
And now we can embed this dashboard inside of D365 for Financials! On your home page click the Power BI Reports section header.
Then a list of reports should appear and you can select the one you'd like to see.
