Q: What is Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional?
A: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional is just the name of the SKU. What this product does is streamline Microsoft's Sales solution. A good way to think about this is as core sales force automation (SFA) that can be used by an organization without having a complex sales organization. If there's a need for a more complex Sales solution this is where the Dynamics 365 for Sales Enterprise SKU comes into play because it can provide customizations, extensibility and embedded intelligence, in addition to all the functionality available within the Professional Sales product.
Q: What is happening to Dynamics 365 for Sales, Enterprise edition?
A: Simply put nothing. The current Dynamics 365 for Sales, Enterprise Edition product is going to be rebranded to Dynamics 365 for Sales and this will continue to be Microsoft's overall Sales application.
Q: What roles within an organization can Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional be used for?
A: Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional is used for various roles within organizations such as Field Service, Inside Sales, Telesales, and much more.
Q: Why should I purchase Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional?
A: There's many reasons but it really depends upon your organization and what it does. An organization that has sales processes and needs that are addressed with core sales force automation (SFA), including lead management, opportunity management and base reporting but not requiring embedded intelligence, advanced customization and configurable reporting would be the perfect fit.
Q: Am I able to try out Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional?
A: Yes, you are able to. Just go to the trial page and sign up with your work email and phone number.
Q: What features are included in Sales Professional?
A: More than I have time to talk about! All joking aside, you can find a list of features that are available by visiting the Dynamics 365 Roadmap Site. I'll add the link to the show notes.
Q: Is there some sort of case management functionality included in Dynamics 365 Sales Professional?
A: Yes there is. Sales Professional allows for full use of the cases entity, surfaced with the case creation form.
Q: Will Dynamics 365 for Sales Profession be available to purchase as an on-premise solution?
A: Nope, there is no on-premise option for Sales Professional.
