Best Practices for Upgrading from NAV 2009 R2 to NAV 2015 Released from Microsoft

Hi All,

Back in June Microsoft released the Best Practices Steps that we should follow during the upgrade of a database.

The Best Practices article lists the steps while Upgrading a Database:

  • From NAV 2009 R2 to NAV 2015

  • From NAV 2013 to NAV 2015

  • From NAV 2013 R2 to NAV 2015

Even if you are upgrading from NAV 2009 R2 to NAV 2013 / NAV 2013 R2 do read the Best Practices article because it contains important points that need to be taken care of during migration.

Please refer to the below links from the Microsoft Team Blog:

The article talks about majority of the issues like:

  • Available data migration toolkits

  • Lanugare issues

  • Dimension issues

  • Huge database

  • Synchronization Issues

  • Collation Issues

  • Data conversion issues

  • Error code 85132273

  • Table index issues

  • Upgrade performance

  • Upgrade codeunits

Also, it felt great that one of my articles about an issue related to dimension was mentioned in the Best Practices article.

Dimensions Issue - Article 1

Dimension Issue - Article 2
